Argao's fiesta every September 29 is a most-awaited event in Cebu and neighboring towns. I doubt if its patron saint, Saint Michael, whom this day is dedicated is remembered too along with the festivities...
  • Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parish, alexjr (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
This church is located in a plce where it is overlooking the sea; I remember its feast day is September 22. Rev. Father Miguel Ortega was once the parish priest (about year 1957).

  • Argao National High School, alexjr (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
It is said that this Argao National High School is an extension of Colawin High School? How come?...when Colawin High is in a far-flung barangay and its extension is pactically in 'urban' Argao (as shown in the map)?

The site seems to be the location of the old Cebu South Provincial High School (CSPHS) way back in 1953. Can anybody confirm that CSPHS became CSCST-AIF and later CTU? I attended my first 2 high school years at CSPHS in 1953; Mrs Consolacion K. Redulla was my teacher-in-charge then, with Mr. Tito Sarmago the Principal.
  • Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital, alexjr (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
This hospital is named after Cong. Isidro C. Kintanar, who served as then Cebu 4th District Representative sometime in 1955 to 1961 (?).

  • Tulic Elementary School, alexjr guest (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
It is between 1920 to 1930 (with only 2 classrooms). Mr. Alejandrino "Ino" Sarmago is one of the pioneer classroom teachers then. The old building is the one in front (elevated above ground).

  • Don Gil Garcia Boulevard, alexjr wrote 13 years ago:
The place was an old railway track. It is surprising why this is now called Don Gil Garcia Boulevard. With due respect to the prominent old man of Cebu City, Senior Don Gil was never an Argaoanon. Can anybody explain it..?
  • Tulic Elementary School, alexjr wrote 14 years ago:
I studied here while in Grade 2 although it was still half-finished in 1948. My Grade 1 classroom was under the big house of Mr. Magdaleno Albarracin whose wife, Mam Codring, was our teacher (as the additional rooms in this Tulic School was not yet finished).
